A Flexible Course Designed for Professionals
On-The-Go

Our course was designed with busy professionals in mind, streamlined to accommodate your demanding schedules. Flexibility is built into our curriculum, allowing you to complete 50% of your classroom assignments at your own pace. As an added bonus, your learning culminates in the final five days of hands-on learning, held in the beautiful mountain town of Joseph, OR.

Practicum Site

40 hours of in-person practicum, required for licensure, are hosted in the historic mountain town of Joseph, Oregon.

Your in-person training offers more than just a hands-on education — it's an invitation to connect with nature. Dive into a learning experience surrounded by majestic peaks, endless trails, and the tranquility of alpine lakes!

Students can choose to stay at the site of our practicum, the Wallowa Lake Lodge (pictured above), or to find lodging elsewhere in Wallowa County. 

40 hours of practicum are held Mondays through Fridays, giving you the option of exploring Joseph the weekend before and/or after your practicum. 

Program
Details

​Our 10-week, 160-hour course entails:
 

  • ​60 hours of online class ("synchronous learning")

  • 60 hours of self-study ("asynchronous learning")

  • 40 hours of in-person practicum
     

Synchronous Learning60 hours of synchronous online lectures (Zoom) will take place over the span of 10 weeks, with classes held in the evenings and on weekends. These classes will include a combination of expert lectures, activities, and group discussions.

 

Asynchronous Learning: Synchronous learning will be supplemented with asynchronous self-study. At your own pace, you'll learn from pre-recorded videos, reading materials, and podcast-style audio lectures.

Practicum​: It's here that you'll meet your cohort in-person and apply your knowledge, while working alongside experts who will help you learn the practical skills needed to safely facilitate preparation, administration, and integration sessions.

Details

Our curriculum was designed by MDs and medical researchers and strongly emphasizes evidence-based practices and psilocybin's neurobiological underpinnings. For this reason, our curriculum best serves those with a background in the sciences.

Our curriculum meets all requirements laid out by the Oregon Health Authority, and includes the following content:

FAQ

  • Where do students stay during the practicum week?
    Students have a choice to stay at the site of the practicum, the Wallowa Lake Lodge in Joseph, Oregon, or to find lodging elsewhere in Wallowa County. Regardless of where you choose to stay, your tuition fee does not cover the cost of lodging.
  • What is the cost of tuition for OPI's Facilitator Training Program?
    The total cost of tuition is $9,300. Once accepted into our program, students reserve their positions with a $1,000 deposit. The remaining $8,300 is collected 2 weeks before the first class.
  • Who is eligible to apply for OPI's Facilitator Training Program?
    Our science-intensive curriculum was developed with clinicians in mind, and is best suited for those with strong backgrounds in the sciences. That being said, we take every application we receive seriously and strongly encourage a diverse student population. At minimum, applicants must be over the age of 21 and hold a bachelors degree to be eligible for consideration.
  • Do I have to be an Oregon resident to apply?
    Starting in 2025, non-residents will be allowed to partake in Oregon's facilitator training programs. If you are a non-resident interested in applying in the future, please contact us!
